Join leading experts and practitioners in water quality at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) to discuss the latest advancements in science, engineering, and policy. This symposium fosters collaboration across universities, industry, government, and consulting sectors to promote innovative and impactful solutions for Canada’s water quality challenges.

Day one: February 23 

  • Panel discussion on “The future of water/wastewater research and the intersection with operations and career implications”: Chaired by Samantha LeValley, Regional Co-director – Central International Water Association, Young Water Professionals, featuring panelists: 
    • Steven N. Liss, Vice-President, Research and Innovation, TMU
    • Adriano Mena, Research & Innovation Program, Regional Municipality of York, Public Works
    • Laura Yu, Regional Director, Government Relations & Partnerships, Mitacs
    • Genevieve Peters, Director of Research ECO Canada.
  • Conference networking session: Led by York University researchers Stephanie Gora and Brian Mahayie Waters, gain insight into how to network with other academics and meet fellow water quality experts. 

Day two: February 24 

  • Keynote sessions: Featuring renowned experts Dr. Art Umble, and Dr. Robert Andrews.

  • Technical sessions and panel discussions: Join a range of sessions hosted by university, industry, and public sector experts.

  • Poster and Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) presentations: Explore the latest research by students from TMU, York University, and King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.
