The iBEST Visiting Lecturer Series is pleased to present a talk by Dr. Katharine Dunlop, a Scientist at the Centre for Depression and Suicide Studies, St. Michael’s Hospital, and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
In Dr. Dunlop’s lecture, “A Cross-Sectional and Longitudinal Assessment of Dimensional and Categorical Approaches to Explain Individual Differences in Depression,” Dr. Dunlop will discuss dimensional and categorical characterizations that are robust and stable during optimization, generalizable to holdout data, and longitudinally generalizable (even after rTMS). She will also highlight cases where subtyping approaches may not be optimal, and emphasize that inter-individual variability in baseline symptoms and changes in symptoms may be useful in predicting antidepressant response.
