Amirnaser Yazdani named 2025 IEEE Fellow.
The Chair of the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering (ECB) at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), Amirnaser Yazdani, was recently elevated to the rank of Fellow by IEEE – effective January 1, 2025. The world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, IEEE awards this prestigious level to less than 0.1% of voting members who are selected annually.
The IEEE recognized Yazdani's contributions to the “modeling, analysis, and control of power-electronically interfaced distributed energy resources.” Yazdani said, “I’m most proud of my contributions to the research community and training in the area of electric energy conversion, but wish to acknowledge and appreciate all the support I have received throughout my career from my students, associates, and collaborating colleagues.” TMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS) Associate Dean, Research and External Partnerships, Stephen Waldman, shared, “This announcement is a testament to Professor Yazdani’s scholarly, research, and creative contributions to the field and the impact our FEAS researchers are having globally in the research community.”
Congratulations Amir!
