Accelerated Master of Applied Science (MASc) Pathway
The accelerated master of applied science (MASc) pathway is a prestigious program for exceptional undergraduate engineering students in the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science who show interest and aptitude in research. The pathway fast-tracks your graduate studies by up to one year, enabling you to reach your academic and professional goals sooner.
The pathway is open to undergraduate engineering students in third year. A demonstration of academic excellence and research potential are required, as well as a minimum CGPA of A- (3.67/4.33).
If you wish to apply, you must first identify a research supervisor. Together, you will develop a research focus as well as a plan of study that indicates your intended timelines with respect to the completion of your undergraduate degree and commencement of graduate studies, all of which is recorded in the Recommendation for Admission into the (PDF file) Accelerated MASc Pathway form (opens in new window) . The final selection decisions to the accelerated MASc will be made by both the undergraduate and graduate associate chairs. Commencement of the pathway will be conditional on satisfactory fulfillment of all requirements specified in the approval form.
There are several scholarships available to you as an accelerated MASc student.

You may enrol in a maximum of two (2) graduate level courses in addition to your regular undergraduate course requirements in the final year of your undergraduate program. These two courses will not be counted toward your undergraduate degree requirements nor will they be included in your undergraduate GPA calculations. They will be used towards your MASc degree requirements.
