Join us for a tabling session to share what belonging means to you. Your input will help shape the future of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at TMU.

What to expect

At Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), we are part of a diverse community where everyone’s unique backgrounds, experiences and perspectives contribute to our universal thriving.

Join us during the tabling sessions to share what “belonging” at TMU means to you and its significance in your personal, academic and professional lives. Your perspectives will help shape the university’s EDI Strategy and Action Plan

There will be a variety of ways to get involved in the conversation, including independent activities and opportunities to share your thoughts on belonging with the EDI Strategy and Action Plan project team and Office of the Vice Provost, Students (OVPS) partners.

As a thank you for your time and participation, you will receive a voucher for a free tea or coffee from Oakham Cafe!

More information

TMU’s EDI Strategy and Action Plan will provide a framework for equity, diversity and inclusion across the university. Once complete, this strategy and plan will outline priorities and actions to drive meaningful EDI progress.

Early consultations took place in fall 2024. At that time, all community members were invited to complete a survey to share perspectives about how EDI can be advanced at TMU. Half of the survey participants identified fostering community and a sense of belonging as the top priority for advancing EDI at TMU. This emphasizes that belonging is viewed as essential to EDI progress.

The EDI Strategy and Action Plan is now entering the next phase of consultations through engagement initiatives with the broader community as well as focused sessions with different student, faculty, staff and community groups to generate ideas and feedback.

We value your contributions in the advancement of EDI at TMU, which will support the university’s vision and outline priorities to drive meaningful, lasting change.

Learn more about how you can get involved in the future of TMU’s EDI Strategy and Action Plan on the consultations page.

About the organizers
