Angela Chow RECE, BA

Early Childhood Educator
DepartmentFCS-ECS
OfficeEarly Learning Centre

Angela Chow graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Studies and with a minor in Psychology. As a Registered Early Childhood Educator, Angela is committed to collaborating with children and families to create environments that honour their rights, childhood and holistic needs.

Angela finds the most joy from accepting invitations to play from children. She can be seen portraying various duties and requests such as being a traffic light post as children drive past to get groceries or pretending to be unwell so that soup can be prepared, and bandages deployed.

Angela is often described as a thoughtful, creative and resourceful individual. In 2018, she was the recipient of the Field Educator Award. The students appreciated Angela’s approachable demeanour and dedication to their learning, growth and experiences.  Angela also held the position of interim supervisor at Toronto Metropolitan University Early Learning Centre, where she offered stabilization to her team and families during a time of transition.

Outside of the Early Learning Centre, Angela enjoys reconnecting with the natural world and engaging in experiences that enable her to be creative. Much of Angela’s childhood memories of exploring with mud and water and creating art using unconventional materials continue to inspire her practice and ways of thinking as an educator. Angela is passionate about exploring creative development among young children and how their creativity is impacted by an adult-driven world and environmental design. Angela is thoughtful about how these underpinnings  influence the rights of a child and every day practice.
