Meagan Trush (she/her)

Director, Research Partnerships

Meagan Trush is the Director of Research Partnerships at Toronto Metropolitan University's Diversity Institute and works to build meaningful, mutually advantageous partnerships to support the work of the Institute. Meagan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Lakehead University and a Masters of Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. Prior to joining the Diversity Institute, she served in the offices of the Mayor of Toronto, the Minister of Consumer Services, and the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, and has held leadership roles in dozens of election campaigns over the last 15 years. Originally from the Thunder Bay area, she spent six years consulting on a range of projects related to Indigenous mental health and community wellness in the far north. Her volunteer endeavours have taken her to South Africa as part of a capacity-building initiative for youth, and to the United Nations as part of civil society advocacy for preventing the illicit flow of small arms and light weapons. She is the Vice President, Organization of the Ontario Liberal Party, and recently completed a two-year term as Chair of the board of Out Of Bounds, a registered charity providing grief and trauma support to the families of victims of gun violence.
