Connecting Students with the Smart Grid: Clean Energy Zone Workshop Insights
On October 12th and 26th, the Centre for Urban Energy’s Clean Energy Zone hosted a plethora of students eager to explore the field of Smart Grids in our Exploring Smart Grid Technology Workshop. This event presented students with a theoretical understanding of the functions of distribution systems and SCADA within the Smart Grid framework, along with an overview of the challenges associated with overloading and the protection measures to mitigate them. Students were able to test theoretical concepts to practical solutions by testing the concepts learned in the Schneider Electric Smart Grid Lab. Furthermore, the day provided students with an enjoyable opportunity to connect with peers and Clean Energy Zone researchers sharing their enthusiasm for Smart Grids.
The Clean Energy Zone offers a range of opportunities, including the Power Up Program, which supports students with promising clean energy ideas.
