About ISO 37004:2023 Governance maturity model — Guidance

In 2021, the International Organization for Standardization (external link)  (ISO) published its flagship standard on organizational governance, called ISO 37000 (external link) , which articulates conditions for good organizational governance, governance principles and key aspects of practice. In 2023, ISO 37004 (external link)  was published pertaining to organizational governance maturity. As understood here, organizational governance maturity reflects, for example, the degree of organizational responsiveness, agility and resilience in addressing changing operating conditions, while maintaining alignment with an organization's purpose and values. ISO 37004 defines the concept of governance maturity and articulates a governance maturity measurement framework and associated governance maturity scale. The standard is intended to be applicable to all types and sizes of organizations regardless of location.
