From Afar It Is an Island - A Story About the Island of Lampedusa

Mariella tells a story about the island of Lampedusa, and also talks about how, from the story of the island, an idea was born that led to the creation of a children’s library on the island and the IBBY International Silent Books Collection. It just takes one person for an idea to spread and grow, like a plant from a tiny seed, like a stone thrown in an ocean, it can have ripples that spread far and wide. Mariella has been involved with this project these last 10 years.
