BRAMPTON (January 17, 2023) - Today Brampton Venture Zone by Toronto Metropolitan University (BVZ, TMU) has announced the 18 new startups that will be joining its Launch incubator in 2023. BVZ Launch is a six-month non-equity based incubator program designed for MVP-ready technology startups to launch in the market.

This new group of startups will solve problems related to their newly-launched sector in food sustainability, which is in addition to health and wellness and smart city, mobility and logistics. The main areas of focus within food sustainability include global supply chains, food security, alternative ingredients, extending shelf life of products, food certification and traceability, consumer perception and knowledge, and increasing efficiency in food processing. BVZ startups have access to industry experts, mentorship from entrepreneurs in-residence and access to thousands of dollars in funding.

“As we enter into a post-pandemic world, the challenges we face as a society are greater than ever,” said Usha Srinivasan, director of the Brampton Venture Zone. “They require the intersectionality of key sectors to solve pressing problems.
