The Gordon and Helen Love Family Entrepreneurial Award

This award supports a student who is a true enabler of ideas and in the early development stage of pursuing their startup. To be eligible for this award, applicants must be full-time or part-time students at Toronto Metropolitan University and current members of one of Toronto Metropolitan's Zones, either as founder or co-founder of a business or project. The recipient will be selected based on their passion for entrepreneurship, commitment to building their startup, and the creativity of their startup idea.

Eligibility Conditions

To be eligible for this award, students must:

  • Be enrolled in CEDZ100
  • Be a Founder of Co-Founder of a project in a Zone
  • Be registered as Undergraduate, Graduate, Continuing Education, Full-time or Part-time student at Toronto Metropolitan University and have clear academic standing;
  • Be in good academic standing (minimum CGPA 2.67)
  • Demonstrate financial need, as determined by Toronto Metropolitan University, through submission of a Student Budget Form

Weighted Criteria

Written Statement (500 words maximum) outlining:

  • Their startup or project idea and how they have demonstrated commitment towards building their idea;
  • How they have demonstrated commitment/passion for entrepreneurship;
  • How they intend to pursue their business/project both externally and as part of their university education;
  • How have your studies at Toronto Metropolitan helped support/ foster your entrepreneurial spirit.
  • How they intend to use the funds over the summer;
  • What they wish to accomplish over the summer months.
