The G. Raymond Chang – Sheldon Levy Partnership Award for Zone Learning

The G. Raymond Chang – Sheldon Levy Partnership Award for Zone Learning recognizes an undergraduate student in their second, third, or fourth year who is a member of one of the Zones at Toronto Metropolitan University, based on the strength of their innovation—specifically how their Zone project challenges the status quo and creates something better—and encourages them to further their entrepreneurship endeavours.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

To be eligible for this award, students must:

  • Be registered as an undergraduate, full-time student at Toronto Metropolitan University and have clear academic standing

  • Be currently enrolled in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of any program at Toronto Metropolitan University

  • Be a current member of one of the Zones (Biomedical Zone, Brampton Venture Zone, Clean Energy Zone, Design Fabrication Zone, DMZ, Fashion Zone, Innovation Boost Zone, Legal Innovation Zone, Science Discovery Zone, Social Ventures Zone, or Transmedia Zone)

WEIGHTED CRITERIA

  • Statement (500 words maximum) that highlights how the student intends to use the funds they will be receiving from this award and what impact it will have on their project goals (50%)
  • A functioning prototype and/or viable business plan (50%)

SELECTION AND ADMINISTRATION

This award will be administered by Zone Learning. The selection committee will be composed of at least three representatives from Zone Learning at Toronto Metropolitan University. Applications will be reviewed and a ranked list of qualified award recipients will be created. The final selection of the recipient will be based on the weighted criteria. If it is the opinion of the selection committee that no candidates meet the outlined criteria satisfactorily, the award shall not be given to any applicant that year.
