Usage of the OneCard
Student OneCard
This card is the property of Toronto Metropolitan University and must be returned upon termination. Use of this card is governed by University regulations set forth in official publications. The person whose name is printed hereon is responsible for all transactions made with this card. Lost/stolen cards must be reported to the OneCard Office. This card is non-transferable and charge will be levied for replacement cards. Based on your continued student registration with Toronto Metropolitan University, your OneCard will remain active for accessing University services. This activation does not include access to buildings or labs. Your faculty or school must continue the practice of providing activation time lines and levels.
Faculty/Staff OneCard
This card is the property of Toronto Metropolitan University and must be returned upon termination of employment to the Human Resource Department. Use of this card is governed by University regulations set forth in official publications. The person whose name is printed hereon is responsible for all transactions made with this card. Lost/stolen cards must be reported to the OneCard Office. A charge will be levied for replacement cards. This card is non-transferable.
Replacement OneCard
Toronto Metropolitan University will assess a replacement fee for a lost OneCard. Please check the TMU OneCard Office or Website for current fees. If the photo on file with the OneCard Office is older than four years, the OneCard Office reserves the right to take a new photo of the card holder.
Once a replacement OneCard has been issued, all previous cards are deemed cancelled and cannot be reactivated for any reason.
Privacy Notice
Toronto Metropolitan University (the "University") collects personal information under the authority of the Toronto Metropolitan University Act, in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The information on this form is needed to process your application for your Toronto Metropolitan University (“TMU”) OneCard. Your OneCard is your campus identification card, your Library Card, your on-campus debit card, your door access security card and your card to access various services such as but not limited to the Athletic Centre(s). etc. Your account and personal information will be kept strictly confidential between the TMU OneCard Office and Toronto Metropolitan University and may be shared within Toronto Metropolitan University or with third parties under the following circumstances:
Your Student OneCard photograph may be used for class list purposes and as identification for the purpose of participating in coursework, including exams.
Your OneCard photograph may be used to identify you if you appear as a person of interest in video surveillance footage used by TMU Security and Emergency Services. The footage from the surveillance cameras is used for community safety purposes. Please note that some of TMU's surveillance cameras appear in buildings where Toronto Metropolitan University shares space with other non-university tenants and under certain circumstances related to health and safety or law enforcement matters Toronto Metropolitan University may share this information with the building owners or tenants.
Your OneCard photograph will be shared with Athletics if you are a student and for faculty and staff, only if you decide to become a member. Athletics will use the photograph to facilitate and support membership services, identity management, and members’ health and safety.
Use and disclosure of your OneCard photograph is otherwise limited to the uses and disclosures permitted by FIPPA sections 41, 42, and 43, which includes disclosure to law enforcement and in compelling circumstances affecting the health and safety of an individual.
eAccounts privacy disclaimer
TMU uses a third-party service provider, Transact Holdings Inc. to enable you to make secure online deposits of funds to your OneCard account. Should you choose to use this service, any financial information (credit card or banking information) you provide to Transact is not shared with TMU. Transact shares limited personal information with TMU specifically, your first and last name, student ID number, and email address which TMU needs in order to link the deposits to the actual OneCard account.
