Program Transferability Guidelines

Criminology

Students must have successfully completed CRM 100 in order to transfer to Criminology for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete both CRM 100 and CRM 102 in first year. Transfer applications are considered on a competitive basis subject to space availability. Students intending to transfer to Criminology for second year are normally expected to present a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (B) in their first semester studies at Toronto Met to maximize their chances for consideration, subject to competition and available second-year spaces. Possession of the minimum cumulative grade point average does not guarantee program transfer. Applications following the February 2nd program transfer deadline are not accepted. Students wishing to apply after February 2nd must wait until the next program transfer cycle in the following year.

Criminology and History Double Major

Students must have successfully completed CRM 100 and one HIS course numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 (or one of HIS 461, HIS 462, or HIS 490). It is strongly recommended that, in first year, students complete both CRM 100 and CRM 102 as well as two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 (or two of HIS 461, HIS 462, or HIS 490). Students must have successfully completed CRM 100 and POG 100 or POG 110. It is strongly recommended that, in first year, students complete both CRM 100 and CRM 102 as well as POG 100 and POG 110. Students intending to transfer to Criminology and Politics and Governance Double Major for second year are normally expected to present a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (B) in their first semester studies at Toronto Met to maximize their chances for consideration, subject to competition and available second-year spaces. Students must have successfully completed CRM 100 and SOC 105. It is strongly recommended that, in first year, students complete both CRM 100 and CRM 102 as well as SOC 105 and SOC 107. English

Students must have successfully completed ENG 110 in order to transfer to English for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete both ENG 110 and ENG 208 in first year.

English and History Double Major

Students must have successfully completed ENG 110 and one HIS course numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 (or one of HIS 461, HIS 462, or HIS 490).  It is strongly recommended that, in first year, students complete both ENG 110 and ENG 208 as well as two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 (or two of HIS 461, HIS 462, or HIS 490).

English and Philosophy Double Major

Students must have successfully completed ENG 110 and one of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, or PHL 366.  It is strongly recommended that, in first year, students complete both ENG 110 and ENG 208 as well as two of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, or PHL 366.

Environment and Urban Sustainability

Students must have successfully completed EUS 102 or EUS 202 in order to transfer to Environment and Urban Sustainability for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete EUS 102 and EUS 202 in first year.

Geographic Analysis

Students must have successfully completed GEO 131 or GEO 151 in order to transfer to Geographic Analysis for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete both GEO 131 and GEO 151 in first year. 

History

Students must have successfully completed one HIS course from among the courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399. It is strongly recommended that students complete two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 in first year. (HST courses may be substituted for HIS courses.) 

History and Philosophy Double Major

Students must have successfully completed one HIS course numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 (or one of HIS 461, HIS 462, or HIS 490) as well as one of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, or PHL 366.  It is strongly recommended that, in first year, students complete two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 (or two of HIS 461, HIS 462, or HIS 490) as well as two of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, or PHL 366.

History and Politics and Governance Double Major

Language and Intercultural Relations

Students must have successfully completed LIR 100 in order to transfer into Language and Intercultural Relations for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete a FRE of SPN course in first year.

Philosophy

Students must have successfully completed one of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, or PHL 366 in order to transfer to Philosophy in the fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete two of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, or PHL 366 in first year.

Politics and Governance

Students must have successfully completed POG 100 or POG 110 in order to transfer to Politics and Governance for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete both POG 100 and POG 110 in first year.  

Politics and Governance and Sociology Double Major

Students must have successfully completed POG 100 or POG 110 as well as SOC 105.  It is strongly recommended that, in first year, students complete POG 100 and POG 110 as well as SOC 105 and SOC 107.

Psychology

Students must have successfully completed PSY 102 in order to transfer to Psychology for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete both PSY 102 and PSY 202 in first year. Transfer applications are considered on a competitive basis subject to space availability. Sociology

Students must have successfully completed SOC 105 in order to transfer to Sociology for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete both SOC 105 and SOC 107 in first year.
