Understand and practice project management principles and practices for digital entertainment production including animation, gaming VFX, and film. Qualify as a Production Lead or Manager within the CASO Studio network in Ontario immediately after the completion of all four workshops. Workshop Series Details

  • Description: This workshop will explore the fundamental principles of Project Management, examining the mindset and skillset needed to manage Animation and VFX projects successfully. Participants will gain an understanding of Animation and VFX pipelines and the role of Production Management within the production framework. Learn the fundamentals in managing people, schedules, budgets and resources as well as the importance of planning, tracking,  problem-solving and communication. Discover how effective Production Management leads to the smooth delivery of projects on time and on budget, fosters teamwork and contributes to a happy and healthy work environment for the entire production team.
  • Dates & Schedule:
    Tuesday, Sept 3 to Thursday, Sept 26, 2024

  • Description: This workshop develops skills necessary to financially manage large and small Animation and VFX productions by actively building budgets and schedules, understanding the fundamentals of production financing and the complexities of the production tax credit system within Canada and North America.

    Tuesday, October 1 to Thursday, October 24, 2024

  • Duration: 2 hours per session x 8 sessions. Total 16 hours over 4 weeks.

  • Description: In tandem with the creative brief, budget and schedule, this workshop will introduce the creative and technical considerations in establishing a production pipeline which supports the administration of the creative and technical delivery of Animation and VFX assets, using custom and commercial production tool sets.

  • Description: This workshop is at the core of production management. By combining the creative brief, the budget, schedule and pipeline, you will learn how to parse out creative and technical assignments, track assets and completed shots, assign and negotiate client revisions and ultimately deliver the finished Animation or VFX content.

Julie Stall

Julie Stall

Julie is an experienced television executive, award-winning producer, project manager and administrator who offers a variety of production, management and administrative services to top production companies. Julie is skilled in human resource staffing and supervision, project planning and execution, budgeting, scheduling, and financial and creative management.

Josa Porter

Josa Porter

Josa is a producer who has worked with notable animation and VFX production companies in various roles most recently as Head of Production and Executive Producer. Josa was also the Director of Stereoscopic Production for Legend.

Julie McDonald

Julie Mcdonald

Julie is a finance and operations expert with over 15 years of experience including for Pixar and Netflix. Julie worked as a producer and consultant in the live-action, animation, AI and VFX industries delivering top-tier productions for global clients and platforms such as Disney, Apple TV+, Hulu, Cinesite, MPC, Viz Media, Sony Japan, Warner Brothers besides Pixar and Netflix.

Cash Lim

Cash B. Lim

With close to 25 years of experience in the animation and VFX industry, Cash is an Emmy-nominated veteran in production, having worked in both film and television series production. Cash has had the privilege of working with some of the best studios in the industry, having been head of production or producing with House of Cool, Portfolio Entertainment and WeFX, to name a few.

He has experience in 2D, 3D, Stop-Motion, VFX, and commercials and has knowledge and expertise across the Animation and VFX industry. His knowledge and expertise encompass the entire production process.

Michael Bitton

Michael Bitton
