Fees and Funding
Tuition fees
PhD in Management students are charged fees by term. For each term that a student is registered in the program they would pay one-third of the yearly tuition plus ancillary fees. For a full listing of tuition and ancillary fees please visit the Registrar (RO) Graduate Fees webpage.

* The PhD in Management program fees published by Toronto Metropolitan University reflect the cost of the program for the current academic year (2024-2025). The PhD in Management program takes four years full-time and six years part-time to complete. As such, the total cost of the program is the published total for one year of study. The fees for the next academic year (2025-2026) will be published by the University over the summer.
Funding
Each full-time PhD in Management candidate is eligible for a funding package of up to $30,000 each year for four years. The package will include research grants, scholarships, and graduate assistantships.
The annual renewal of funding is subject to student’s performance in the program, including, but not limited to: maintaining a full-time enrollment and a clear academic standing, satisfactory job performance as a Graduate Assistant, and successful progression through the program's Milestones.
Yardi Systems Graduate Award in Real Estate
An award created by Yardi Canada Ltd in 2024 to provide financial support for two PhD students in the Ted Rogers School of Management interested in research in Real Estate.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet all of the qualifications in at least one of the following groups:
- Applicant must be a PhD student.
- Applicant must be enrolled in Ted Rogers School of Management.
- Applicant must be enrolled full-time (80% or more of a full course load or at least four (4) billing units).
- Applicant must have a minimum CGPA of 2.67 or higher.
OR
- Applicant must be registered with Academic Accommodation Support.
- Applicant must have an approved accommodation for a reduced course load.
- Applicant must be a PhD student.
- Applicant must be enrolled in Ted Rogers School of Management.
- Applicant must be enrolled Full-time (permanent disability: 40% or more of a full course load).
- Applicant must have a minimum CGPA of 2.67 or higher.
Value
Two (2) annual awards of $15,000 each.
Deadline to apply
The deadline to apply for this award is by the end of January of each year. Application details are sent to actively enroled PhD students each year.
Lifespan
Annually for the following academic years: 2024-2025, 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.

Black Graduate Student Awards
The Black Graduate Student awards are a suite of awards and bursaries established by Yeates School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (YSGPS) to support Black Students pursuing graduate studies.
Indigenous Graduate Student Awards
The Indigenous Graduate Student Awards comprise of an award and a bursary established by the Yeates School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies to support Indigenous students in pursuing graduate education at Toronto Met. These awards recognize excellence and/or alleviate some of the financial burden associated with graduate education.
Supporting Aboriginal Graduate Enhancement (SAGE) Award
The Supporting Aboriginal Graduate Enhancement (SAGE) Award has been established by a friend of the Rotary Club through the Toronto Eglinton Rotary Charitable Foundation to encourage Indigenous students to pursue graduate studies with the hope of increasing the number of Indigenous Peoples entering careers in academia.
Indspire (external link)
Indspire is a national Indigenous-led registered charity that invests in the education of Indigenous Peoples for the long term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada. They offer a number of bursaries, awards and scholarships (external link) for post-secondary students with deadlines throughout the year.
The Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Migration and Integration
The Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Migration and Integration is the first ever CERC awarded to Toronto Metropolitan University, building on the university’s strengths and commitments in the area of immigration and settlement studies.
CERC Migration, led by Professor Anna Triandafyllidou, is producing innovative and usable knowledge on the links between migration and post-migration processes, forced and voluntary mobility, internal and international migration, and the role of countries of origin and transit. The Canada Excellence Research Chair offers stipends to full time MA and PhD students who are studying at Toronto Metropolitan University on a migration and/or migrant integration-related topic.
Funding Amount:
PhD: up to $25,000 per year, renewable for a total of four years, subject to an annual review of the student’s progress. Available to first year PhD students entering a Toronto Met PhD program.
