The Ted Rogers MBA program ranks as a top five MBA program in Canada, Bloomberg Businessweek announced this week.
“We move up in the rankings due to the incredible hard work of our MBA faculty and staff, plus those moments of inspiration that challenge us to be fast-moving and relevant,” says TRSM Dean Daphne Taras.
The Bloomberg Businessweek Best Business Schools 2019-20 ranking (external link, opens in new window) is based on extensive interviews with business school deans, professors, administrators and analysts, more than 26,804 surveys of MBA students, alumni and recruiters, and employment data provided by schools on four indexes: Compensation, Learning, Networking and Entrepreneurship.
According to the survey, the Ted Rogers MBA program ranked #2 for Learning in Canada. This ranking focuses on whether the curriculum is applicable to real-world business situations, the degree of emphasis on innovation, problem-solving and strategic thinking, the level of inspiration and support from instructors, class size and collaboration. The program also ranked #3 in the country for Entrepreneurship.
This year, Bloomberg Businessweek did not present a global ranking with schools from all regions. The publication instead displayed regional results for Europe, Asia, the United States and Canada, which allowed for more detailed intra-regional index rankings.
The survey also includes qualitative comments from MBA students and alumni. One person from the Ted Rogers MBA program said, “Small class sizes allow for many opportunities,” while another said, “Emphasized collaboration; certain instructors were extremely engaging.”
“This is a tremendous accomplishment and it means a lot because it includes feedback from our own students and alumni,” says Dr. Donna Smith, Director, MBA Programs. “It also gives us strong momentum as we prepare to relaunch our MBA program in 2020.”
Earlier this year, the Ted Rogers MBA program was ranked #4 worldwide and #1 in Canada for collaboration by the Bloomberg Businessweek Best Business Schools survey.
