The newly launched Ted Rogers Sales Leadership Program is already making an impact, as its Sales Team beat out 22 top schools from the U.S. to win the North East Intercollegiate Sales Competition.
“This was Ted Rogers Sales Team’s first sales competition and it was an exceptional outcome in a very competitive event,” says Dr. Karen Peesker, Director of the Ted Rogers Sales Leadership Program, who coached the team and helped launch the program this fall. “I’m so proud of these students and how they represented Ryerson University and Canada.”
The Ted Rogers Sales Team, made up of Winston Devendrarajah, Sarah Oliver, Vinh-Son Hoang, Tristan Broks, Kaitlann Silao, Stanley Sik, and Adrian Cheng, was the only Canadian one participating in this tournament-style competition, which took place November 2-3, 2018. The team won first and third place in Individual Sales, first place in Speed Selling, and were crowned the overall University Champion.
In addition to the team accomplishments, Devendrarajah beat out approximately 180 students to win the Top Student award at the event and Oliver came in third. Devendrarajah also placed first for Speed Selling.
The Ted Rogers Sales Leadership Program brings together students, academics and sales professionals to provide a deeper understanding of sales leadership, and engages students in experiential learning opportunities, such as international sales case competitions, to help equip them to become ethical sales leaders.
