Canada has experienced a significant increase in immigrants from Hong Kong due to the
political tensions that have arisen from the Mainland China and Hong Kong border conflict.
Hong Kongers are not immigrating through the refugee pathway and are settling in Canada
academically and financially stable looking for opportunities, raising the need for a statistical
framework that analyzes the demographic and spatial composition of these immigrants. This
research employs statistical methodologies such as Global Univariate Moran's I, Pearson
Correlation analysis and, Geographically Weighted Regressions to explore the spatial-temporal patterns of Hong Kong immigrants in the Toronto CMA pre and post immigration policy implementation, and COVID-19 pandemic.
