This Major Research Paper aims to analyze spatial patterns of asthma, high blood pressure, type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes rates in the City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This research will be conducted through a geodemographic lens. Throughout this very diverse city, there are many who experience chronic conditions. This research will provide context into what parts of the city need to be focused on to combat these conditions based on carefully selected independent variables. In previous research, studies have struggled to examine the spatial aspect of how chronic conditions interact with certain variables that influence the conditions. By using spatial regression and cluster techniques this study explores the relationships between certain census tracts and see how these census tracts can be targeted in order to decrease the prevalence of chronic conditions in the City of Toronto.
