Internship
The Professional Study Practicum prepares students for the portfolio and interview process while introducing them to hands-on work experience.
With experiential learning, students will expand their professional network and work in a mentorship style relationship to facilitate learning. Internship experience is completed by working within an Interior Design office or the Interior Design division of an Architectural firm, for example. A total of 400 hours of field placement work experience is required in order to graduate and is normally completed during the summer between third and fourth year.
Students are also given the opportunity to network, have their portfolio critiqued and attend panels of professionals from varying fields during events such as The School of Interior Design's Annual Careers Night and Portfolio Critique Night. These events are provided by our Internship Coordinator and are exclusive to The School of Interior Design students only.
