Psychiatry

Three doctors collaborate around a computer

TMU’s Psychiatry residency program will train excellent clinicians who are community-driven, culturally competent and prepared to handle complex patient needs. Learners will develop an appreciation for a holistic approach to psychiatry in a supportive environment featuring a wide range of clinical, community and interdisciplinary training opportunities. The program will nurture the personal and professional goals of each resident, fostering excellence in critical thinking, scholarly activity, leadership and advocacy.

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Residency Accreditation Committee requested additional information prior to making an accreditation decision for this program. This is an expected part of the process for new programs. The program is confident that accreditation will be granted at the next meeting of this committee on October 17th and 18th, 2024. If the program does not receive accreditation, no positions will be available in the match.
