Sadia Mehmood

Sadia Mehmood is a deeply motivated 3rd year medical (MD) student at Western University. She holds a fierce passion for multi-level advocacy initiatives inspired by her personal struggles caring for her Mother over the span of decades until her recent passing. 

Sadia’s lifelong vision of becoming a multi-faceted physician led her to complete the Clinical Trials Management program at Western University following her BSc in Biomedical Sciences at Toronto Metropolitan University. Throughout her academic journey, Sadia has actively participated in multiple clinical research teams, focusing on studying cardiometabolic diseases. Her efforts have resulted in contributions to 6 peer-reviewed publications. 

Sadia’s commitment to empowering her communities is rooted in her personal experiences. Having lived in social- housing and serving as a caregiver for most of her life has strengthened her resolve to study health-policy and principles of equitable care. Her ultimate goal is to apply her passions for medicine and advocacy to address the barriers faced by socially and medically complex patients.
