NUPOP, short for "Nunavut Pop," is your ticket to celebrating and promoting the incredible talent of Inuit artists. NUPOP South is a one-week-only mini tour in December 2023, presented by Hitmakerz in collaboration with Saagajiwe, The Creative School, and Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). Highlighting the sounds of Nunavut, this immersive concert experience and workshop will be hosted on campus at TMU at the Innovation Studio’s HQ, located on the second floor of 110 Bond Street, Toronto, ON, M5B 1X8. Following the success of the first NUPOP 2022 concert and workshop series in Iqaluit, we're back and excited to bring this experience to audiences in Ontario. NUPOP South 2023 will be featuring Angela Amarualik and introducing Leo Matthew Temela. Angela is an award-winning Inuk singer born and raised in Igloolik, Nunavut. She has extensive experience in the music industry and recently recorded her second album with Grammy-winning producer, Chris Birkett. Leo Matthew Temela is an up-and-coming Inuk hip-hop artist from Kimmirut, Nunavut who is in the process of recording his debut album with Grammy award winner, Matt Snell of Genesis Sound Inc. and Robbie Brett.
