The Sport Media degree program is your path to a successful career in the sport industry. It offers experience in on-air hosting, live production, audio and video editing, sport journalism, multi-platform marketing, content creation and sport entertainment management. You’ll also have a wide array of short-term experiential learning opportunities abroad.
Networking and skills development opportunities including working with the Bold Broadcasts Group, who produce varsity athletics broadcasts on behalf of TMU. This extra-curricular group will teach you how to present on-air, direct, produce, or interview athletes and coaches, all in the state-of-the-art Sportsnet Studios.
In addition to practical skills, students also contextualize the sport media landscape within our society by reflecting on the roles identity, globalization and culture have on the creation of sport content.

Academic requirements
This is a Grades-Only program. Admission decisions for Grades-Only programs are based on academic performance.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.
Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:
- A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U)
