Academic Consideration (opens in new window) 

Academic consideration is a form of alternate arrangement that may be made with the approval of the course faculty/contract lecturer, when a student experiences extenuating circumstances that prevents them from completing an academic requirement. Please review the  (google slide) Academic Consideration Request (ACR) Submissions presentation (external link)  for full instructions on submitting an ACR.

Works with students to create and implement individualized academic accommodation plans so students can more fully participate in their studies.

Career, Co-op & Student Success Centre (opens in new window) 

A central resource to access relevant and responsive support to navigate their way in, through and out of Toronto Met into their careers.

Indigenous Student Services (opens in new window) 

Provides specialized services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples on campus and to develop a mutually productive relationship between TMU and the Indigenous community.

Fosters a sense of belonging and community for all students who are new to Canada as well as for those students seeking a global experience on campus.

Offers writing and language support, study skills and transition support through individual appointments, workshops, and writing groups.

Allows students to apply their degree coursework to real world startups, causes, companies, projects or ventures.


Student Wellbeing

Centre for Student Development and Counselling (opens in new window) 

Works with students to co-create an empathic and respectful space that honours their lived experience, and tailors support to meet their unique needs.

ThriveTMU (opens in new window) 

Helps students feel a sense of support on campus, to better appreciate the connections between academic success and other elements of a healthy lifestyle, and, primarily, to help students develop capacities for thriving that will serve them throughout their lives.

TMU Therapy Dogs (opens in new window) 

Aims to improve mental well-being on campus by hosting weekly events for students to meet Therapy Dogs in partnership with the St. John's Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.

Consent Comes First (opens in new window) 

Provides free, confidential, trauma-informed, healing-centred support to Toronto Metropolitan students affected by sexual violence and other forms of gender-based violence.
