Biography
Arthur Ross is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Politics and Public Administration, and member of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies, at Ryerson University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts-Honours (BA-Hons) from the University of Winnipeg, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto .
Arthur has also been active in the Ryerson community, serving on several University committees and on the executive of the Ryerson Faculty Association.
Arthur's current research interests and activities encompass immigration, immigrant settlement and social welfare with an emphasis on self-help and the development of the welfare state. He is the author of Communal Solidarity: Immigration, Settlement, and Social Welfare in Winnipeg’s Jewish Community, 1882–1930, published by the University of Manitoba Press, 2019.
