Caryl Arundel
Biography
Caryl Arundel is the Coordinator of the Certificate in Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Management (opens in new window) offered through the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. She is also a Contract Lecturer in the Department of Politics and Public Administration.
Caryl holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University (Kingston) and a Master of Science (MSc) in Planning Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her undergraduate degree is in urban geography from the University of Toronto.
Caryl Arundel works as a policy and management consultant specializing in projects in the public and nonprofit sectors. Her consulting work includes research and policy analysis; governance; organizational review and development; engagement, facilitation and training; and strategic planning and program review and evaluation. Caryl has about 20 years of experience in municipal government in senior positions in housing, child care, social policy and planning, housing development and operations, organizational and operational analysis, and in the offices of the Mayor of York and the Chairman of Metropolitan Toronto. She has served, and continues to contribute to, nonprofit boards and associations.

Caryl Arundel is a member of the board of directors of Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities. Caryl is a member and past Chair of the Canadian Urban Institute, a member of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (past national board member), a member and past Chair of the Toronto Group of IPAC, and a member of Lambda Alpha, (land economics) Simcoe Chapter. Caryl has served on a variety of voluntary boards and associations including the Toronto District Health Council and the Community Information Centre of Toronto and until recently has coordinated the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal of Distinction in Public Administration.
