Bank Accounts and Merchant Accounts Policy

I.    Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure clear accountability and proper account management by defining the management approval structure governing Toronto Metropolitan University (the "University") bank accounts and merchant accounts (credit card accounts).

II.    Scope

This policy is applicable to all University bank accounts and merchant accounts.  This policy applies to all academic and administrative departments.

III.    Policy

All University bank and merchant accounts must be approved by the Executive Director, Financial Services or designate who acts on behalf of the Board of Governors.

IV.    Jurisdiction

This policy falls under the jurisdiction of the Vice President, Administration and Finance. The interpretation, application and administration of this policy are the responsibility of the Chief Financial Officer.
