4.48 Psychosis draws us into the innermost sanctums of the heart and mind, asking us to reckon with both the darkness and light we find there. Theatricalizing the maze-like experience of a nameless artist moving through depression, psychosis, and the mechanisms of institutionalized mental-health care, this text confronts to be or not to be with sharp wit, brutal honesty, and searing poetry. Kane’s prismatic text reveals what we most want to hide, offering itself as a gateway between that which is living and dying inside us
