Special Student Applications

Three Nutrition students in lab coats and hair nets talking amongst themselves in lab

Toronto Met's Nutrition and Food (BASc) program accepts special student applications.

Students are designated special students (also known as visiting students) if they are enrolled in one or more courses, but are not pursuing a degree.

To qualify as a special student in the School of Nutrition, you must provide:

Unofficial transcript - degree completion (within the past three years) of an undergraduate degree from a Canadian university accredited by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) (external link)

**If you graduated more than three years ago, please contact the College of Dietitians of Ontario to write the Knowledge and Competencies Assessment Test (KCAT) (external link)  in their next administration. This test assesses foundational knowledge, and if successful in KCAT level I, you are able to apply for supervised practical training programs. If you rank KCAT level II, that indicates you need updating.  This process has been implemented since CDO is the body that decides who is eligible to write the registration exam.
