TMU Community invited to attend School of Medicine town hall consultations

Community members are welcome to attend any of the five virtual town halls.

Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) is committed to leading an open and consultative process in planning for a new School of Medicine in Brampton, set to open its doors in fall 2025.

As part of this commitment, the Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, the University Planning Office, and the School of Medicine leadership team will be hosting a series of  town hall consultations, to give members of the university community the opportunity to discuss its development in a public forum.

All town halls will be held virtually and registration to attend (external link)  is required. These town halls are for TMU community members only and as such require a @torontomu.ca email address to register:

The Future of Medical Education at TMU

Learn about the School of Medicine’s proposed undergraduate medical education curriculum and learning model, and how it will address growing gaps in primary care across the province and the country at large. The session will also provide insight into the admissions process and how social accountability is embedded into planning.

Please note that there will be three town hall sessions presented on this topic.

Wednesday, November 9, 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, November 16, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
Monday, November 28, 1:30-3:00 p.m.

Research at the School of Medicine: Opportunities and Strategic Directions

Join this town hall to learn more about the School of Medicine’s research planning process, including strategic research directions and insights from recent small group faculty consultations.

Thursday, November 24, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Planning and Resourcing the School of Medicine

This town hall session will provide insight into the School of Medicine’s proposed integrated health system, clinical learning environments, and how they will set TMU apart from other medical schools. A budget, funding and resource overview for the School of Medicine will also be shared.

Tuesday, November 29, 2:00-3:00 p.m.
