Students share their excitement as they make TMU home

This past Sunday, families made their way to Toronto Metropolitan University's campus to help new students make the transition to campus housing and university life. The milestone moment was marked by excitement and emotion as parents and loved ones saw off the newest cohort. More than 1,000 young adults moved into residence, making Toronto Metropolitan University home. Read student move-in day reactions and goals as they start their university career.

I'm really excited!

I'm just going to [familiarize myself with] the campus and be more open.

How do you feel about being here today?
Very excited. I've been looking forward to university my entire time in high school and I'm very, very happy to finally be here. It's so cool being in a big city. I've lived in the country most of my life, and it's really, really cool to be here now.
What are your goals for this year?
My goals for this year are to discover new things, learn new things, and have fun.

How does it feel moving in today?
Exciting but scary to start something new. This is my second time around and I'm gonna make it stick. I’m back in Pitman to start a new year in 2022.
What are your goals for this year?
My goals are to be as creative as I can, not worry about limits and explore the city.

I'm a little nervous to be leaving home but very excited to be starting a new chapter in my life here.
What are you looking forward to the most in your first year?
I'm really excited to meet a bunch of new friends and going into a new program.
