Cynthia Holmes appointed interim vice-provost, academic
I am pleased to announce the interim appointment of Cynthia Holmes as vice-provost, academic of Toronto Metropolitan University, effective May 12, 2022. I would like to thank Cynthia for accepting this interim role and for her continued dedication to our community. As previously announced, a search committee has been established for the new vice-provost, academic.
Cynthia is an academic leader who has been with the university at the Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM) since 2010. As the associate dean, Faculty and Academic, she is committed to giving students a rich university experience through excellent curriculum and experiential learning opportunities, and has prioritized advancing innovation in learning and teaching to prepare them for success in their careers.
With her research focused on real estate finance and housing economics, Cynthia is the founding chair of the Real Estate Management Department at TRSM and teaches real estate management courses. Her enthusiasm for championing academic excellence is well known across the university, and her ongoing work elevates students so that they are better positioned to make a positive impact on the world. I look forward to Cynthia approaching the position of interim vice-provost, academic with this lens.
I would also like to thank Kelly MacKay for her extraordinary leadership as vice-provost, academic since December 2018 – in particular throughout one of the most disruptive periods in our history. Her support of students, faculty members, contract lecturers and the administration helped the university to adapt and evolve, and I am grateful for her contribution to pedagogical innovation.
