Robyn Parr appointed as new university registrar
I am pleased to announce that, following a comprehensive search process, Robyn Parr has been appointed the new university registrar. Robyn has been the interim registrar since September 2021 and began in the role permanently on April 8, 2022.
Robyn brings more than 20 years of experience and expertise to this vital position that serves the entire Ryerson community. The Office of the Registrar (RO) works to advance the university’s academic plan through efficient and creative solutions that enable student success, and oversees Examinations, Undergraduate Admissions, Domestic Recruitment, Student Financial Assistance, University Scheduling, ServiceHub, Student Records and more.
While at Ryerson, Robyn has held several roles within the Office of the Registrar, culminating in the last five years as associate registrar, student financial services. Most recently, during her two-year secondment to the Office of the Vice-Provost, Students, she brought invaluable leadership as the change and opportunity lead in 2019, and then as executive director in 2021.
Robyn holds a master of arts, leadership from the University of Guelph, is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and has also completed Ryerson’s project management certificate. In 2021, Robyn had the distinct accomplishment of being only one of four Canadian higher education professionals to receive the Strategic Enrolment Management Endorsement through the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). Prior to joining Ryerson in 2012, she served as the Registrar for Canada’s National Ballet School.
I am thrilled to welcome Robyn to this integral role at the university. I know her to be a dedicated change leader who lives by her values, while consistently prioritizing the student experience. Always available to lend her expertise and perspective to her colleagues, I look forward to the leadership she will provide to her immediate team and the broader university community. On the cusp of a new name for our institution, I know Robyn will seize the opportunity to ensure the Registrar’s Office reflects our university’s dynamic and promising future.
