Winter semester begins virtually and plans for a return to in-person learning remain in place
I hope that all of our community members have had a restful holiday break and are looking forward to the year ahead. As I shared with the community last month, our winter semester will begin with virtual instruction, shifting to in-person learning on Monday, January 31. There will be some exceptions for programs that require in-person instruction which are being managed at the program level.
I am sure that many of you have been following the recent news from the province, including the move to a modified step two of the Roadmap to Reopen (external link) . We continue to monitor the situation and are in regular contact with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities as well as Toronto Public Health on what impact the most recent wave of COVID-19 may have on post-secondary institutions. Any necessary amendments or changes to our approach to the winter semester will be communicated in the weeks ahead.
As has been the case throughout our response to the pandemic, the university continues to make decisions that are in line with guidance from our government and public health authorities, while prioritizing the health and safety of our community.
Please continue to visit our dedicated COVID-19 website for updates and important information on our vaccination policy, case reporting and tracking, health and safety on campus and much more.
Wishing our students, faculty and staff a happy new year and all the best for a successful winter semester.
