In the video above, meet Mic Carter.

His fashion designs are turning heads - not only for how they look - but who can wear them: anyone.

Carter teaches about gender-neutral clothing at Ryerson's School of Fashion - to help ensure the future of fashion is more inclusive. His non-binary clothing brand, L'Uomo Strano, is also housed in Ryerson's Social Ventures Zone.

“Style and fashion are at times the very first tool and the strongest tool you can use to express your gender or identity, particularly if it’s in flux or if it’s changing or transitioning. It is such a powerful tool for non-binary and gender non-conforming individuals,” he said.

Watch above to see how he's creating change both on the runway – and in life.
