Admission Timeline
We will issue application acknowledgements and online interview invitations by email after your application has been received from OLSAS. Please see Online Interview and Applications Communications for more details.
We make offers of admission on a rolling basis starting in December and continuing until approximately mid-March. Waitlist decisions are issued after the April 1 confirmation deadline. All applicants receive an official admission decision.
All decisions are issued to the Communications section of your MyServiceHub Student Centre. Offers of admission are also posted to your OLSAS account for the confirmation process.
If you receive an offer of admission to the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, it is important to carefully read all pages of the offer letter. Toronto Metropolitan University reserves the right to withdraw offers of admission made to students who fail to: respond by the confirmation date specified in their offer, make the applicable deposit by the tuition fee deadline, and/or meet the conditions outlined in their offer of admission.
Additional Information
Log in to the OLSAS website (external link) and complete the Submit process to accept or decline your offer of admission. The offer is time sensitive and confirmation must be completed by the deadline stated in the offer letter.
Firm Acceptance
When a firm acceptance is provided, all other choices will be marked as “Decline: No Further Consideration”. All applications and wait lists at any other Ontario law schools will be cancelled.
Provisional Acceptance
If a provisional acceptance is provided, you must indicate which other choices you wish to remain active. If not indicated, all choices at other Ontario law schools will be marked as “Decline: No Further Consideration”. Provisional acceptances automatically become firm acceptances according to the OLSAS deadline date.
Further details on the confirmation processes can be found at OLSAS.
After the April 1 confirmation deadline we offer a small group of applicants positions on a wait list. The official communication is posted to the Communications section of your MyServiceHub Student Centre, and includes instructions on how to accept or decline the wait list.
Accepting a wait list position does not impact your offers of admission from other law schools on OLSAS.
You are required to pay a non-refundable $1,500 tuition deposit if you are an international student, and a non-refundable $500 tuition deposit if you are a domestic student, by June 1, or the deadline date stated in your offer of admission, to confirm your space at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law.
How to Pay the Deposit
Visit Fees for detailed payment instructions and FAQs.
Confirming Your Deposit was Received
You can confirm your deposit was received by Toronto Metropolitan University on MyServiceHub. A negative balance in the Student Fees section of your Student Center on MyServiceHub indicates a credit on your account, confirming your deposit was received.
A Deposit Statement, which can be used as a receipt and proof of payment, is available via the Deposit Statement (.PDF) link in the Student Fees section of your Student Center on MyServiceHub.
Conditional Offers of Admission
If your offer of admission includes conditions (see your offer letter in MyServiceHub for details) you must arrange for the required documentation to be submitted directly to OLSAS. The deadline for submission is June 30, unless otherwise stated in your offer letter.
All Other Applicants with Confirmed Offers of Admission
If you are/were enrolled in post-secondary studies during the current academic year you must submit official transcripts including final marks and confirmation of credential completion, if applicable. These transcripts must be submitted directly to OLSAS by June 30.
Submission Process
Please review the OLSAS (external link, opens in new window) Application Guide for submission instructions.
Written requests for deferrals are considered on an individual basis, and only if an applicant accepts the offer of admission and pays the tuition deposit. Deferrals are granted at the discretion of the Faculty of Law. Requests must be submitted using the (PDF file) Deferral Request Form. The application for deferrals for fall 2024 is now closed.
Deferrals to spring, summer or semesters beyond one year will not be considered. Please see the (PDF file) Request for Deferral of Admission Form for additional information and conditions.
For fall 2024 applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their application and required documents by the November 1 deadline to ensure a fair and equitable assessment for all. The Lincoln Alexander School of Law does understand that circumstances may arise which interfere with this process and written requests for permission to submit a late application may be granted at the discretion of the Admissions Committee. Requests must be submitted to lawadmissions@torontomu.ca with the subject line “Late Application Request” and must include the following (incomplete requests will not be considered):
- First name and last name (no nicknames or short forms);
