Are you new to AskHR?

AskHR is a new online tool that can help TMU employees get answers to common Human Resource questions. It can also allow you to submit a request or forms to HR.

  • Access AskHR 24/7 from anywhere, anytime to search for information and resources, or to make a request.
  • Log in using your TMU User ID and password.
  • Type your question or topic into the search bar and you'll be offered articles related to your topic.
  • If the articles don't provide the information you need, send a specific question to HR from within the system.
  • AskHR is a new technology for HR and does not replace eHR, which is still required for its current functions, such as submitting time off or checking your pay. Learn more about the differences between AskHR and eHR.

Frequently asked questions

You’re considered an active employee if:

  • You are currently working or teaching at TMU; and
  • You have an active employment relationship with the university (i.e. you are a full-time, permanent employee or are within an active contract term).

To confirm whether or not you are within an active contract term, please refer to the start and end dates outlined in your offer letter. If the end date of your contract has passed (and you do not have any other active employment contracts with the university), please contact HR by submitting the  (google form) Human Resources External Inquiry Form (external link) .

If the end date of your contract has passed (and you do not have any other active employment contracts with the university), please contact HR by submitting the  (google form) Human Resources External Inquiry Form (external link)

There are two ways of contacting HR, depending on whether or not you are an active employee:

  • Employees who have an active employment relationship with the university (this includes full-time and part-time, permanent and contract employees) can contact HR by logging into AskHR and submitting a question or request.
  • Individuals who do not have an active employment relationship with the university (e.g. retirees, former employees, individuals in between university contracts, external parties, etc.) can contact HR using the  (google form) Human Resources External Inquiry Form (external link) .

In both cases, an HR staff member will review your request and connect with you to provide an answer and/or fulfill your request.

Having these two channels ensure that questions and requests are directed to the right HR staff member, and that our clients receive responses as quickly as possible. Defining two contact channels also enables us to proactively track metrics on areas such as request type volume and response time, which is critical data that we rely on to continuously improve our services.

Between 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m, Monday to Friday, the HR team closely monitors incoming questions and requests that are sent through both AskHR and the  (google form) Human Resources External Inquiry Form (external link)  web form. After you submit your question or request, it is logged in our system and assigned to the appropriate HR staff member who will connect with you to provide an answer and/or fulfill your request.

Please note: Requests for a letter of employment have a turnaround time of two business days.

Expecting to land someplace else?

As of November 14, 2023, employees can use AskHR to search for knowledge articles that answer FAQs, access HR information and resources, submit inquiries and/or upload request forms. AskHR is TMU's central tool for contacting Human Resources.
