About the Project

The purpose of the study is to analyse and synthesize literature on social innovation and social entrepreneurship with a particular focus on Indigenous tourism. The study will be conducted using a multi-method approach consisting of a literature review, content analysis, key informant interviews and interviews with best practice case studies of Indigenous people practicing social innovation in tourism.

About the Researcher

Dr. Sonya Graci is an Associate Professor at the Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Ryerson, University in Toronto, Ontario. Dr. Graci is also the Director of the Hospitality & Tourism Research Institute. Dr. Graci has worked on numerous projects around the world related to sustainable tourism development. She has a keen interest in working with Aboriginal communities in developing sustainable forms of tourism. Dr. Graci is the author of two books and several journal articles and industry publications.
