How to Make a Deposit Payment

Deposits for the fall admissions can be made starting on June 1, 2025. The payment is due by June 14, 2025*. If you have been issued an offer of admission after June 1, your deposit is due by the confirmation date outlined on your offer. For example, if your confirmation date on your offer is July 5, then your deposit date is also due on that same date. If the university does not receive your confirmation deposit by this deadline, your place in the program may be forfeited.

*However If you are an international student and are required to obtain a study permit to attend school in Canada, you are required to pay a $2,000 deposit upon accepting your offer of admission from TMU. A Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) will not be issued until you accept your offer of admission and have paid your deposit. In order to apply for a study permit, you will be required to obtain and submit a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL), along with your Letter of Acceptance (LOA).

Deposits for the winter admissions can be made starting on October 3, 2025. The payment is due by October 17, 2025*. If you have been issued an offer of admission after October 3, your deposit is due by the confirmation date outlined on your offer. For example, if your confirmation date on your offer is November 5, then your deposit date is also due on that same date. If the university does not receive your confirmation deposit by this deadline, your place in the program may be forfeited.

The payment is due by February 17, 2025 If you have been issued an offer of admission after February 1, your deposit is due by the confirmation date outlined on your offer. For example, if your confirmation date on your offer is March 5, then your deposit date is also due on that same date. If the university does not receive your confirmation deposit by this deadline, your place in the program may be forfeited.

The tuition deposit is non-refundable except in the following cases:

  • The university cancels/rescinds an Offer of Admission
  • An application for a Study Permit has been denied (proof required)

If this applies to you, please email gradapplicants@torontomu.ca with a copy of the refusal letter from the IRCC.  You can expect a response within 3-5 business days.

Please note that Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) neither requests nor accepts payment in Bitcoin, Litecoin or other cryptocurrencies.

Deposits should be made using online or telephone banking:

  • Add Toronto Metropolitan University/TU-R as a payee
  • Your 9-digit Toronto Metropolitan Number (found on your Offer of Admission) is your account number
  • Visit Tuition and Fees for detailed payment instructions and FAQs
    If you are making a payment online, please make sure you pay well in advance of the deadline to allow for processing.

Confirming your deposit was received

You can confirm your deposit was received by the university on MySeviceHub, which is accessed via my.torontomu.ca. A negative balance in the Student Fees section of your Student Centre on MySeviceHub indicates a credit on your account, confirming your deposit was received.  

A Deposit Statement, which can be used as a receipt and proof of payment, is available via the Deposit Statement (.PDF) link in the Student Fees section of your Student Center on MySeviceHub. See instructions for accessing your Deposit Statement.
