Toronto Metropolitan University (TorontoMet) is on a transformative path to becoming Canada's leading comprehensive innovation university. Guided by a bold Academic Plan, an ambitious research agenda, and a Master Plan to revitalize the campus and surrounding neighbourhood, TorontoMet is the most applied-to university in Ontario relative to available spaces, and its reputation with business and community leaders continues to rise.

TorontMet offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programs. Culturally diverse and inclusive, the university is home to 45,300 students, including 2,600 master's and PhD students, more than 3,000 faculty and staff, and more than 188,000 alumni worldwide. 

Research at TorontoMet is on a trajectory of success and growth: externally funded research has grown by 50 percent in the last four years.

Through its programs and zone learning – a pioneering approach to experiential learning that is transforming entrepreneurial education in Canada – TorontoMet is shaping the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.

In 2018, TorontoMet opened two new buildings. The Daphne Cockwell Health Sciences Complex, located on Church Street, houses health-related programs, lecture halls, classrooms, eight research labs and a student residence. The Centre for Urban Innovation on Gerrard houses a research, incubation and commercialization hub focused on alternative energy, water management, food production and data analytics.
