The Associate Dean, Programs, works closely with the Vice-Provost and Dean to manage the graduate component of the institutional quality assurance process (IQAP), mandated by the Quality Council. This includes supporting graduate programs through the Periodic Program Review Process (Policy 126), new program development (Policy 112) and curriculum modifications (Policy 127). The Associate Dean collaborates with various graduate stakeholders to maintain overall compliance with the Quality Assurance Framework of the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance.
About Dr. Janet Koprivnikar
Dr. Janet Koprivnikar has joined YSGPS as interim associate dean, programs and will serve until June 30, or later if needed, as the search proceeds for the next vice-provost and dean.
A professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biology and active member of YSGPS Council, Dr. Koprivnikar previously served as acting associate dean, research, innovation and external partnerships in the Faculty of Science.
Her research interests relate to the ecology of wildlife infectious diseases, especially parasites of aquatic animals. Dr. Koprivnikar has more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is an editorial board member for the International Journal of Parasitology and the Journal of Helminthology. To date, she has supervised or co-supervised 14 graduate students and two postdoctoral researchers at TMU.
