Biography
2021 marks 40 years for Art Seto working full-time in print; 23 years in industry and 17 years in academia. He is passionate about quality education, with a high level of enthusiasm directed at assisting motivated students achieve career goals.

Responsible for the successful completion of the business plan and prospectus and provided ongoing liaison with the brokerage firm and Analysts. Assisted in raising several million dollars through private investment and concurrent public financing. Successfully applied several hundred thousand dollars in government research and technology grants for the development of innovative IT technologies to build this early print ecommerce company. Responsible for day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Local Managing Director reporting to the public company head office in California. Local business owner and responsible for all aspects of Operations, Sales & Marketing and Finance. Implemented a PrintSmith MIS system.

Instructor of printing Cost Estimating course, 5 sessions over 5 years. Eighteen hour course taught in different formats and in different cities.
- Estimating Manager Blanchette Printing (previously H. MacDonald Printing) 1994 to 1998
Recruited, trained and supervised the Estimating team. Implemented a Covalent MIS cost estimating system, established standards, BHR cost rates, and standard operating procedures. Tendered annual materials purchases.

Recruited, trained and supervised the Estimating team. Assisted in structuring production standards, cost BHR rates, operating procedures and implementing a Profits MIS system.

As a Cost Estimator I created price lists for large magazine contracts and performed post mortems on jobs. As War-on-waste Coordinator I was responsible for reporting and analyzing data regarding waste, spoilage, productivity, efficiency and other key performance indicators. And as the assistant to the Director of Manufacturing I was tasked with many special projects, including technical troubleshooting, training and quality control.

As an indentured (employer, employee, union, government) apprentice I became competent in running the saddle stitcher, guillotine, folders, inserters, and ran my own crew on the midnight shift with a mandate to produce a large quota of magazines each shift.

Self Employed utilizing Hasselblad cameras, over the course of eight years I shot many weddings, sports teams, portraits, fashion shows, and business events. Operated from a studio I rented.
