Important notice: Canada Post labour disruption
As of November 15, 2025, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has started a national strike. Canada Post has indicated that there will be a service disruption and that mail and parcel services are suspended. For updates on the labour disruption, please visit the Canada Post website (external link) .
How this may impact you
Mail delivery
If you are expecting a delivery or have sent a package through Canada Post recently, it may be delayed. If you’re planning to send mail or a package over the coming days, we encourage you to look for delivery alternatives, such as courier services.
During the labour disruption, Shipping and Receiving continues to process and provide courier services for community members sending and receiving mail or parcels on behalf of the university. Please contact Shipping and Receiving at
receiving@torontomu.ca to discuss delivery service alternatives.
Cheques will continue to be printed as scheduled
Financial Services will continue to print cheques for vendors as scheduled on November 27 and December 11. However, cheques will not be mailed until Canada Post resumes regular service, so please expect delays.
