This award recognizes and provides financial support to undergraduate LatinX students in the Faculty of Community Services who are committed to improving the lives of people in the community.

The Durst Family Award for Indigenous Students supports Indigenous students who are enrolled in a full-time or part-time undergraduate program of study in the Schools of Child and Youth Care, Disability Studies, Early Childhood Studies, Social Work, and Urban and Regional Planning.

The Faculty of Community Services Indigenous Student Success Awards support Indigenous undergraduate and graduate students in the Faculty of Community Services who have shown engagement with and/or commitment to Indigenous communities.

The Faculty of Community Services Full-time Undergraduate Award acknowledges students who have demonstrated leadership, collaboration, creativity, innovation, commitment and/or contribution to their discipline, school or community. It also recognizes students who have may have overcome a personal obstacle while remaining in school.

The Isabella and Oscar Zacharias Undergraduate Research Award promotes and recognizes outstanding research and high academic achievement for full-time and part-time undergraduate students in the Faculty of Community Students.

The Marvyn Novick Award in the Faculty of Community Services was established in memory of Marvyn Novick (1940-2016), former dean of the Faculty of Community Services and a leading thinker and contributor to social policy in Ontario and Canada. He researched and wrote major national reports on child poverty in Canada; conducted a widely cited pioneering study on changing social conditions in Toronto suburbs; addressed issues of employment, civic and community well-being , and the life chances of children; and focused public attention on the need for cross-community alliances to build inclusive communities and on the social responsibilities of government at all levels.
Award value: One award of $1,000
This grant funds our students in the Faculty of Community Services who are traveling nationally or internationally for placement. The grant is intended to support opportunities that will enhance the student’s capacity to support healthy, equitable and caring environments for all. Funding is available for placements in the current academic year (including Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer semesters).

The RBC Community Services Award is available for undergraduate students enrolled in an undergraduate full-time degree program at the Faculty of Community Services who are interested in pursuing a career in the non-profit sector.

The Toronto Eglinton Rotary Club / Dr. Robert McClure Award in Health Science Award supports Indigenous students pursuing a degree in a full-time, undergraduate Health Sciences program in the Faculty of Community Services (Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing, Midwifery Education Program, the School of Occupational and Public Health or the School of Nutrition). The award was created to honour the work of Dr. Robert McClure, an outstanding humanitarian, gifted surgeon, the first lay Moderator of the United Church of Canada and member of the Toronto Eglinton Rotary Club.

The Faculty of Community Services Undergraduate Research Grant encourages undergraduate students to engage in a research project focused on a question they have that has emerged from their academic experience, student engagement, transition from student to a professional role, or teaching and learning experiences.

The Usha George Students-in-Action Award has been established in recognition of Usha George, former Dean of the Faculty of Community Services, for her active commitment to student engagement, learning opportunities beyond the classroom and social innovation.
Full-time and part-time undergraduate students can apply for project funding for a student-led initiative that addresses a social issue in the local/global community. Examples may include launching a campaign, organizing an event, hosting a lecture, facilitating a workshop, or executing a project. Innovation and creativity are encouraged! Students may apply as a group, however, one student will submit the application and be responsible for managing their funding and any other requirements of this award.
Award value: One award of $2,000

The Faculty of Community Services Student Dean's Essay Writing Award acknowledges graduate students for the winning essay within each of our graduate school programs. By nomination only - no application is required.

The Faculty of Community Services SRC Innovation Graduate Award supports graduate students who challenges the status quo within their field of study with new solutions and new ways of thinking and practicing. Preference will be given to qualified applicants who have not already received another major scholarship through Toronto Met or external bodies in the same academic year.
Award value: One award of $2,500
This grant aims to provide funding to undergraduate and graduate students in the Faculty of Community Services who have had a paper accepted and who have been invited to attend a peer-reviewed academic conference. This grant is available for the Fall and Winter term.
