The Black Scholarship Institute (BSI) invites you to a powerful fireside chat exploring Vibrant Visions: The Art of Black Girlhood in Canada—a groundbreaking initiative that amplifies the voices and experiences of Black Canadian girls. Rooted in the SSHRC-funded research project Mapping Black Girl Geographies and Belonging in Canada (MBG) by Dr. Kisha McPherson (TMU), Dr. Desiree De Jesus (York University), and Dr. Crystal Webster (University of British Columbia), this event delves into identity, belonging, and the systemic forces shaping Black girlhood.

As champions of Black scholarship, BSI is committed to fostering inclusive excellence, advancing Black flourishing, and co-creating initiatives that support Black scholars across disciplines. This fireside chat bridges academic research with community engagement, challenging dominant narratives while creating space for intergenerational dialogue, mentorship, and transformative collaboration.

Join us for an inspiring conversation that highlights the power of research, art, and collective action in shaping more just and inclusive futures.
