Toronto-based designer Izzy Camilleri developed the “Lip Reader” mask as a solution to the literal barrier to communication created by standard opaque face masks. This face covering features a clear plastic window in the middle, which supports lip reading for individuals in the deaf and hard of hearing communities. This mask is reflective of Camilleri’s inclusivity-focused design philosophy.
