Lori Fischer is a graduate student in the Professional Communications program at Toronto Met University with an undergraduate degree in Food and Nutrition. Leveraging over fifteen year of experience in consumer-packaged goods marketing, Lori’s research focuses on how the elements of packaging design are used to craft a narrative and the subsequent rhetorical tropes found in the health-related consumer segment using colour and imagery.
As part of the Explanatory Journalism Impact and Uptake project, she is working with Dr. Frauke Zeller and Hanako Smith, focusing on digital/virtual healthcare, positioned through the lens of explanatory journalism.
The Explanatory Journalism Project is supported in part by funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
